1 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter, softened
1/3 c. buttermilk
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. nuts, chopped and/or raisins

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix sugar, butter, buttermilk, egg whites and vanilla. Stir in flour, cocoa, and baking soda. Add nuts/raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoon about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Cool.
