BUTTERMILK CAKE | |
3 c. Swans Down cake flour, plain 3 c. sugar 2 sticks butter 4 eggs 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 tsp. almond flavoring 1/4 tsp. baking soda Sift flour 3 times. Cream butter and sugar together. Add buttermilk, soda and 1 cup flour. Mix well. Alternate eggs and flour. Add vanilla and almond flavoring. Pour into tube cake pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Let cool and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Keep wrapped in foil. This helps to keep cake moist. |
