BAKED CARAMEL CORN | |
1 c. butter 2 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. light corn syrup 1/4 c. dark corn syrup 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 6 qts. popped popcorn 2 c. peanuts 1. In heavy saucepan, melt butter, sugar, corn syrups and salt. Bring to boil stirring constantly. Boil without stirring for 5 minutes. 2. Remove from heat, stir in baking soda and vanilla. 3. Gradually pour over popcorn (put in 2 shallow baking dishes). Stir. Add peanuts. 4. Bake for 1 hour in 250 degree oven. Stir every 15 minutes. Remove and cool. 5. Break apart and place in decorated containers. |
