BUTTERSCOTCH BREAD PUDDING 
1 c. brown sugar, packed firmly
3 slices bread, crusts removed, well buttered & cubed
3 eggs, beaten
2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch salt

Put brown sugar in double boiler. Add bread cubes and beaten eggs in milk, plus salt and vanilla. Mix, then cook without stirring until set, about 45 minutes. May leave in double boiler several hours before serving.
