BROCCOLI SOUP 
4 c. fresh broccoli or 2 (10 oz.) pkgs. chopped frozen
1 1/2 c. chopped onions
3 c. water
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
2 tbsp. chicken flavor or 4 chicken bouillon cubes

Mix together; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, covered. Put into blender until smooth. Melt 1/4 cup butter in saucepan; add 1/4 cup flour and the pepper. Stir until thick. Slowly add 2 cups of milk that has been warmed. Then add broccoli mixture until heated, do not boil. HINT: I drain most of the broth from the broccoli and onion (using it to rinse out the blender), which is added to the soup. It's delicious.
