SPICED FRUIT 
4 Bartlett pears
1/2 lemon, peeled (reserve 1x2 inch piece of peel)
14 c. honey
1 c. water
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

With a vegetable peeler, peel and core pears leaving stems intact. Place pears in small bowl with just enough water to cover.

In a 2-quart saucepan combine honey and water; bring to boil and cook 5 minutes. Lower heat to simmer. Add lemon peel, cinnamon and drained pears, placing pears in upright position. Cover and cook over medium low heat for 10 minutes or until tender. Cool pears in juices and serve warm or chilled.
