CHEESY GROUND BEEF CASSEROLE 
1 (5 oz.) pkg. med. egg noodles
1/2 c. chopped green onion, divided
2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. sm. curd cottage cheese
1 (8 oz.) container commercial sour cream
3/4 c. (3 oz.) shredded sharp cheese

Cook noodles according to package directions; rinse well and set aside.

Saute 1/4 cup onion in butter in a large skillet until tender. Add beef and cook until lightly browned; drain well. Add tomato sauce, salt and pepper. Stir well, simmer 20 minutes.

Combine cottage cheese, sour cream and remaining green onion; stir well and set aside.

Place noodles in a lightly greased 2 1/2 quart casserole; spoon cottage cheese mixture over noodles. Spoon meat mixture over cheese mixture and sprinkle with shredded cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Yield 4 to 6 servings.
