BUTTERSCOTCH BARS 
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda and salt
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/4 c. light corn syrup
2 tbsp. water
6 oz. pkg. butterscotch pieces
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts

Sift together flour, soda and salt. Combine sugar and butter and beat until creamy. Beat in eggs ONE AT A TIME. Add vanilla. Stir in flour mixture gradually; mix well. Spread in greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan. Heat mixture of corn syrup and water to boiling point and stir in butterscotch pieces. Remove from heat and stir until melted.

Add raisins and nuts and spread topping evenly over the cookie mixture. Run knife through mixture. Bake 20 to 25 minutes in a moderately hot oven at 375 degrees. Makes 30 small bars.
