APPLE BROWNIES 
1 c. sugar
1/4 lb. butter
1 egg
3 med. apples, pared and chopped fine
1/2 c. walnuts
1 c. flour
Dash salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and add sugar gradually. Beat egg separately until light, then beat it into mixture until creamy. Mix in chopped apples and nuts. Sift dry ingredients together and blend lightly into apple mixture. Bake in 7x11 pan for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut into squares after cooled.
