FRENCH APPLE BREAKFAST PUFFS 
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. grated peeled apple

TOPPING:

1/2 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Add apple; mix well. Fill greased 2 inch muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Roll each puff in melted butter, then in combined sugar and cinnamon. Yield 2 dozen. Baking time 20 minutes. Preparation time 30 minutes.
