LINDA'S SPICED NUTS 
3 c. walnuts
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Toast nuts for 15 minutes in a 325-350 degree oven.

Combine sugar, water and spices. Cook to soft ball stage (234-240 degrees on a candy thermometer). Stir in vanilla. Mix in nuts to coat and spread out on wax paper separately until dry.
