SNICKERDOODLES 
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. plus 6 tbsp. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in a bowl. In mixer cream the butter, shortening, eggs, and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Add flour mixture.

Shape dough in 1-inch balls; roll in mixture of 6 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 10 minutes and cool on cookie sheet.
