SEVEN LAYER CASSEROLE 
4 potatoes, peeled & sliced
4 carrots, peeled & sliced
1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
1 lg. onion, chopped
3/4 c. raw rice (not quick cooking)
1 c. celery, chopped
28 oz. can stewed tomatoes

Fry hamburger and onion until just cooked and not very brown. Pour off grease. Layer ingredients in order listed into a 4 quart casserole dish seasoning every layer or every other layer with salt and pepper to taste. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until potatoes are tender. Serve with crusty bread. Serves 8 to 10.
