COLONIAL MULLED CIDER | |
1 half-gallon natural apple cider 1 tbsp. whole allspice 1 tbsp. whole cloves 8 long cinnamon sticks 1. In 3 quart saucepan, heat cider, allspice, cloves and cinnamon sticks to boiling. If not using a mulling iron, place a cinnamon stick in each of 8 mugs. Strain hot cider into mugs and serve. 2. If using antique mulling irons, heat cider and spices as above. Cool and refrigerate. As needed, strain into mugs and heat with a mulling iron. Serve with cinnamon stick placed in mug. 3. Unpeeled, sliced oranges may also be added with spices. Makes 8 servings. |
