GUM DROP CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder

Stir well until mixed, then add: 1 c. nuts 1 c. coconut, grated 1 c. maraschino cherries, drained 1 c. spiced gum drops, cut up 3 c. yellow apple, peeled & chopped

Mix well. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in a well greased and floured tube pan at 300 degrees. Test doneness with a straw. If it's clean it's ready. Let sit for 10 minutes before cutting.
