GEORGE'S BEEFSTEAK AND KIDNEY

1 1/2 lb. beef steak
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. finely chopped celery
1 c. cubed, boiled potatoes
2 c. cubed, boiled carrots
1 med. onion, sliced
Plain pie pastry
1/2 lb. beef kidney
1 tsp. salt (optional)
1 c. beef stock or water
2 tbsp. fat or butter

Line greased baking dish with pastry. Cut steak and kidney into bite size pieces, sprinkle with flour, salt and pepper. Mix vegetables together and place in pastry lined dish. Bake 1 1/4 hour at 350 degrees. Serves 4 to 6 hungry Englishmen. You may vary amount of potatoes and carrots to your taste.
