BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLE SANDWICH
2 slices sandwich bread (I suggest potato bread, but any soft sandwich bread will do)
butter, to taste (to spread)
sliced baby Swiss cheese (enough to create an even layer on each slice of bread)
sweet bread and butter pickle chips, well drained (enough to layer inside the sandwich. 6 will usually do it)

Lay out the two slices of soft sandwich bread. Spread a thin layer of butter on each slice. Layer the baby Swiss cheese slices on both slices of the buttered bread. The goal is to create a creamy layer that will prevent the bread from going soggy when the pickles are added.

Layer the drained sweet pickle chips on one side of the prepared sandwich. One tip to make sure the pickles are well drained is to let them rest on a paper towel while prepping the rest of the sandwich. Now close the sandwich. Cut it into triangles if desired.

The result is a sandwich that unites creamy and crunchy, sweet and savory elements into a very pleasant mouthfeel and taste.

Makes one serving.
