APPLESAUCE-NUT MUFFINS 
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 c. applesauce
1/3 c. oil
2 eggs
3 tbsp. milk
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. pecans (nuts)
Optional: 1/2 grated apple

In large mixing bowl, combine sugar, applesauce, oil, eggs and milk. Mix thoroughly.

Sift together the flour, soda, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Beat dry ingredients into the applesauce mixture until well combined. Stir in the nuts and grated raw apple if used.

Put into well greased muffin tins. Fill 2/3 full. Can also be made into 9x5 loaf.

TOPPING (optional) :
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Combine and sprinkle over muffins or loaf before baking. Bake muffins at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or 1 hour for loaf.
