ANDY'S WHEAT BREAD | |
1 3/4 c. milk 1/2 c. butter 2 eggs 2 pkgs. yeast 1/4 c. warm water to dissolve yeast 1/2 c. wheat germ 1/2 c. honey 4 to 4 1/2 c. wheat flour 1 1/2 to 2 c. white flour Scald milk; add butter. Allow to cool. Beat eggs and add to cooled milk. Dissolve yeast in water; add to milk. Add honey and wheat germ. Add flours until right consistency; knead. Let rise 1 to 1 1/2 hours until doubled. Punch down and form into two loaves. Place into greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pans and let rise 20 to 30 more minutes. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes until nicely browned. |
