CONTINENTAL BRUNCH TOAST 
1/2 loaf (1 lb. size) French bread
6 eggs
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Dash of salt
3 c. milk
4 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. raisins (optional)

Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Into pan tear bread into 1 to 1 1/2 inch pieces, each with a little crust (about 8 cups). Beat eggs, sugar, cinnamon and salt; stir in milk and raisins. Pour egg mixture on bread pieces; sprinkle brown sugar on top. Heat oven to 325 degrees. Bake uncovered until crust is golden brown, 50 to 55 minutes. Serve warm.

To make the day before, prepare as directed; cover and refrigerate. One hour and 10 minutes before serving, heat oven to 325 degrees. Bake uncovered until crust is golden brown about 1 hour. Serve warm. 8 to 10 servings.
