BUTTER TART PAN SQUARES | |
1/2 c. soft butter 1 c. flour 2 tbsp. sugar 2 eggs, beaten 1 1/2 c. brown sugar 3 tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 c. currant Cream butter, mix in 1 cup flour and 2 tablespoons sugar. With floured fingers, press into ungreased 9 x 9 inch pan smoothly. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. While crust is baking, mix remaining ingredients together. Pour and spread filling over partially-baked crust. Return to oven and bake 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before cutting into squares. Chopped walnuts or pecans may be substituted for currants, or a combination of both currants and nuts may be used. |
