1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 1/2 c. beer 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder (optional) Mix and let stand at room temperature at least 3 hours. 3 cups vegetable oil Heat oil in skillet to about 365°F. Tip: To test oil temperature if you don't have a thermometer, slice a 1-inch cube of bread and toss into hot oil; it should take about 1 minute to brown. Slice onions into 1/3 to 1/2-inch thick rings and then separate. Dip into batter and fry until golden brown. |
