FROSTED PUMPKIN COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. pumpkin
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts (opt.)
1 c. dates (opt.)

Mix above, bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 c. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Boil brown sugar, milk and butter for 2 minutes. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat to spreading consistency.
