ROSY APPLE PIE 
1/3 c. tomato ketchup
2 tsp. lemon juice
5 c. thinly sliced, pared cooking apples
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. butter, softened
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell

Blend ketchup and lemon juice (if apples are very tart, add 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar to ketchup mixture). Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon; cut in butter until thoroughly mixed. Fill pie shell with apples; top with sugar mixture.

Bake in 375°F oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are cooked. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Makes 1 (9-inch) pie.
