EASY SAUCEPAN BROWNIES 
2/3 c. shortening
3 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts

Melt chocolate and shortening in saucepan. When cooled slightly, stir in sugar and vanilla. Beat eggs, one at a time into above mixture. Add flour and salt, mix well. Add nuts.

Pour into two 8 inch pans lined with wax paper. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from pans, peel off wax paper, cut into squares. Approximately 16 squares per pan.
