KATHARINE HEPBURN BROWNIES 
4 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. walnuts
1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt

We often make this, with Texas Cake Frosting, for parties. It freezes great. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Melt chocolate and butter over low heat in heavy pan. Remove from heat and pour in mixing bowl. Beat in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt, then walnuts. Spread batter in well greased pan(s) and bake 45 to 50 minutes.

TEXAS CAKE FROSTING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. Hershey's cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 c. walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring to boil butter, cocoa and milk. Remove from heat, add sugar. Beat until smooth. Add vanilla, then walnuts. Pour over brownies. Brownies do not have to be cool. Let cool and cut. Lick bowl, spoon and beaters.
