REFRIED BEANS 
1 c. dry pinto beans, boiled, cooked and mashed

When beans are completely cool, mash them with blender or mixer. Place mashed beans in hot fry pan with 2 tablespoons hot shortening. Beans will sizzle in shortening; let them come to boil-turn to low and cook until beans reach desired thickness. Add salt and pepper to taste.

To further flavor beans, fry 2-3 strips bacon, remove bacon and fry beans in remaining grease.
