FRENCH ONION SOUP 
2 c. beef consomme
3 c. water
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
3 or 4 onions, sliced thin
2 tbsp. butter
Crisp French bread, toasted
Mozzarella cheese

Saute onions in butter until translucent--not brown. In large saucepan mix consomme, water, and Lipton onion soup mix. Add cooked onion. Simmer for one hour. Pour into oven-proof bowls. Float toast and cover with cheese. Grill under broiler until brown and bubbling. Serve hot.
