GRANDMA'S IRISH SODA BREAD | |
2 c. plus 2 tbsp. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 c. buttermilk 1 tbsp. butter 1 egg 3 tbsp. sugar 3/4 c. raisins (reg. and gold combined) Mix all ingredients together - dough will be semi-sticky. Grease and flour an 8" cake tin. Place dough in the center of the cake tin. DO NOT spread dough. Bake at 325 degrees for approximately 1 hour. The bread should be golden - let it sit for about 15 minutes before slicing. |
