COUNTRY CRISP SUGAR COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. heavy cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
Extra sugar for tops

Cream butter with sugar in mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, cream, and vanilla. Beat well. Sift flour with salt and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture, beating until well combined. Chill dough overnight. Bake at 350 degrees. Grease two or more cookie sheets. Dust lightly with flour. Roll out small amount of dough at one time, very thin, on lightly floured broad. Cut with scalloped cookie cutter. Sprinkle cookies lightly with sugar. Place on prepared cookie sheets. Bake 5 minutes or until done. Makes about 36 to 50 large cookies; 6 dozen or more small cookies.
