SPONGE CAKE 
5 egg yolks
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
5 egg whites
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg yolks and water until foamy; then slowly add sugar. Then fold in flour and salt. Beat egg whites stiff. Add cream of tartar and vanilla. Fold into egg yolk mixture. Pour in ungreased pan. Bake at 325 degrees. Tilt on rack and let hang until cold, then loosen. Use large mixing bowl.
