CHERRY NUT CAKE 
3 sticks butter (or 1/2 butter, 1/2 butter)
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
3 c. sugar
Pinch of salt

Cream together. Add 6 large or 7 medium eggs. Beat well. Add 2 cups plain flour. Chop 1 1/2 cup nuts and 1 1/2 cup Maraschino cherries and coat with 1 cup plain flour. Stir into batter and bake in greased and floured tube pan, 1 1/2 hours on 325 degrees. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan and turn back upright.

Note: Makes grease plain cake without nuts and cherries. Just add 3 cups plain flour. Cherry cake is better if frozen for a week or two before serving.
