BEAN SOUP 
1 bag navy or great northern beans
2 lg. onions
3 bay leaves
3 celery stalks, chopped
2-3 carrots, thinly sliced
Salt & pepper to taste
3 smoked ham hocks or 3 c. ham or 1 ham bone

In 8 quart pan cook beans, onions, bay leaves and meat for 2 to 3 hours. Stir occasionally. Add vegetables. Cook until beans are tender and soup is slightly thick. Remove any bones. Serve with corn bread. Delicious.
