MONTE CRISTO SANDWICHES | |
8 oz. thinly sliced fully-cooked ham 4 oz. Swiss cheese, sliced 8 slices French or Vienna bread, cut on angle 1/2 inch thick 4 eggs 1/3 c. milk 3 tbsp. butter For each sandwich, place 2 ounces ham and 1 ounce Swiss cheese between 2 slices of bread. Beat together eggs and milk. Dip sandwiches in mixture until all liquid is absorbed. Melt butter in large skillet or on griddle. Cook sandwiches slowly, about 8 to 10 minutes, turning once. |
