1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1 c. chocolate chips
2 sticks butter
1 sm. can (2/3 c.) milk
1 c. chopped nuts
1 egg

Melt 1/3 cup milk, caramels, and 1 stick butter together and set aside. Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup milk, 1 stick softened butter, and 1 egg. Spread half of butter in 9x13x2 inch cake pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes.

Pour caramel mixture, nuts and chocolate chips over cake. Glob rest of batter over cake and bake 15-20 minutes.
