SWEET AND SOUR RED CABBAGE 
2 tbsp. butter
6 c. (a med. head) shredded red cabbage
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1 sm. tart apple, thinly sliced
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar

In large saucepan, melt butter. Add onion and saute until tender. Add remaining ingredients; stir to combine. Cover; simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serves 6.
