GORDO (MEXICAN RICE) 
1 c. uncooked rice
1/2 pt. (1 c.) sour cream (or sour cream substitute)
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 c. green onions, chopped
1 c. (8 oz.) green chilies
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cook rice. Blend in sour cream, chilies, onions, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Butter casserole (or use Pam). Layer half rice mixture into casserole and half cheese. Repeat layering rice, then cheese. Bake covered for 35 minutes and uncovered for 5 minutes.
