BANANA NUT BREAD | |
3 mashed ripe bananas 1/2 c. milk 1 c. walnuts, chopped 2 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour 3 tsp. double acting baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. salad oil Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 loaf pans. Mix together bananas and milk. Sift flour with baking powder and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine egg, vanilla, sugar and oil. Beat with wooden spoon until blended. Add banana mixture and beat in. Add flour mixture. Beat just until smooth. Stir in nuts. Bake 60 to 65 minutes. Let cool in pan 10 minutes. Then turn out and let cool completely. Best if stored 12 hours before serving. |
