SEAFOAM CANDY 
1 lb. light brown sugar
3/4 c. water
Pinch of salt
2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
Nuts (pecan halves, if desired)

Boil sugar, water and salt until it spins a thread. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff. Pour hot sugar mixture over egg whites slowly. Add vanilla and beat until creamy. Spoon out on wax paper and put a nut on top, if desired.
