BLONDE BROWNIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. nuts; optional

Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in remaining ingredients except chips. Spread in greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan and sprinkle chips on top. Bake at 350 degrees 25-30 minutes. Serve plain or frosted.

BROWNED BUTTER FROSTING:

Brown 4 tablespoons butter. Add 4 tablespoons milk, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and about 2 cups powdered sugar. Beat until smooth.
