OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING 
4 c. soft bread crumbs
2 c. milk, scalded
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg
1/2 c. raisins

Put crumbs in 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Melt butter in milk after scalding. Add all ingredients to crumbs. Blend thoroughly. Place dish in pan of hot water. Bake 40 to 45 minutes in 350 degree oven.
