FRIED BREAD 
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. shortening
1 to 1 1/3 c. warm water
Powdered sugar
Oil to fry

Mix flour, baking powder, salt and shortening. Then add warm water to form a ragged dough. Then turn onto floured surface and knead 2 minutes. Cover and let stand 15 minutes. Heat oil to 375 degrees. Divide evenly to 12 pieces, flatten. Cook to golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Makes 12.
