RANCHERO SUPPER STEW | |
2 tbsp. shortening 1 1/2 lbs. beef cubes 1 env. Lipton onion soup mix 2 (1 lb.) cans whole tomatoes 1 c. water 2 tbsp. chili powder 2 med. carrots, peeled and cut into slices 1 sm. green pepper, chopped 1/2 c. celery, chopped 2 med. potatoes, peeled and cut into pieces In a large skillet, melt shortening and brown meat. Add Lipton onion soup mix, tomatoes, water and chili powder. Cook uncovered for 30 minutes. Add carrots, green pepper, celery and potatoes. Cook uncovered 45 minutes or until vegetables are tender and gravy thickened. Makes 6-8 servings. |
