HOT MILK SPONGECAKE 
4 eggs or 1 c. (beaten until frothy)
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Start beating eggs, about 5 minutes. While beating eggs put butter with milk and bring just to a boil. Watch carefully to avoid scorching or boil over.

Beat sugar, salt and vanilla into eggs. Beat milk into eggs quickly (not eggs into milk). Beat flour into eggs. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Grease and flour bottom of pan. Great topped with sweetened strawberries. I cut this in thirds and freeze 2 sections for future use.
