HOT MILK SPONGE 
3 c. sugar
6 eggs (room temperature)
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 sticks butter
2 tsp. vanilla

Beat sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl. Place milk, butter and vanilla in small pan on stove over very low flame and scald milk. Add dry ingredients and hot milk mixture to egg mixture and beat well. Grease and flour tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
