SOUTHERN PIE 
3/4 c. Grape Nuts cereal
1/2 c. warm water
1/8 tsp. salt
1 unbaked pie shell
1 c. dark corn syrup
3 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, well beaten
3/4 c. sugar
Whipped topping

Combine cereal with water; let this stand until water is absorbed. Blend eggs with sugar; add syrup, butter, vanilla and salt. Fold in softened cereal; pour into pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until filling is puffed completely across the top. Cool. Garnish with whipped topping.
