SWEET POTATOES (YAMS) 
1 (17 oz.) can yams
1/2 c. sugar
4 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. slivered almonds
1/3 c. syrup from yams
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. lemon juice

Melt butter with almonds. Stir until golden. Add syrup, sugar, juice and cinnamon. Arrange yams in greased casserole. Pour mixture over yams. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes.
