OLD FASHIONED POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. cake flour, sifted
5 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after adding each egg. Fold in flour, using low speed of electric mixer. Add vanilla and blend. Pour into greased and floured tube pan and bake as follows:

Preheat to 300 degrees and bake for 15 minutes. Increase oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes before removing cake from pan.
