IOWA AMISH COOKIES 
1 c. white sugar (granulated)
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. softened butter
1 c. vegetable oil
2 eggs
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat together sugars, soft butter and oil. Add eggs; beat well. Add dry ingredients; mix well. Add vanilla. Roll into balls size of walnuts. Grease bottom of flat glass and dip in sugar; then flatten dough ball. Dip glass in sugar for each ball. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Do not overbake.
