CHOCOLATE CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES | |
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces 2 tbsp. butter 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 1 beaten egg Grease and lightly flour a 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Melt chocolate pieces and butter; cool. Stir together flour and baking powder. In a mixing bowl, beat 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of the vanilla and gradually add 3/4 cup sugar. Continue beating the eggs until thick and lemon colored. Add dry ingredients to egg mixture and beat until well combined. Stir in chocolate mixture and nuts. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and remaining 1/4 cup sugar until fluffy. Stir in remaining egg and vanilla. Spread half of the chocolate mixture, then half the cheese mixture, then the other half of the chocolate mixture. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes and cool on a wire rack. Cut into about 16 bars. |
